Application Fee and Deadline
The application deadline has passed for the 2009-2010 school year. However, admissions are rolling for 1st-4th grade applicants. If you are interested in 1st-4th grade for the 2009-2010 school year, please call our main number, 718-369-3023.

Applications for the 2010-2011 school year will be available September 8, 2009. The deadline to submit your application for the 2010-2011 school year is Friday, November 20, 2009. Applications and application fees must be postmarked by the deadline in order to receive a call to schedule a time for a parent interview and a school tour. It is strongly recommended to get all your admissions materials in before the deadline. Your application should include a non-refundable fee of $75. Checks should be made out to International School of Brooklyn and sent along with your application to 237 Park Place, Brooklyn, NY 11238.

Additional Application Materials
• A Parent Statement is to be submitted with all applications Nursery-Fourth Grade. The Parent Statement is an opportunity for you as the parent to share in writing how you would best describe your child. Please submit your Parent Statement before the November 20, 2009 application deadline.

• If you are applying for Kindergarten-4th Grade, you will need to submit a copy of your child's last school report (or a completed Teacher Form filled out by your child's most recent teacher if a school report is not available). Please submit your child's school report or the Teacher Form before the November 20, 2009 application deadline.

Play Based Assessments/Child Visits
A visit for your child(ren) will be scheduled when you schedule your tour and interview. For Nursery-1st grade your child's visit will involve engaging your child(ren) in table activities, circle time activities and an informal group discussion. For Nursery and PreK applicants children will meet in small groups of 5-6 for approximately 20 minutes, and parents will remain in the room. For K-1 applicants the visit will last approximately 45 minutes and parents are invited in a classroom next door, to an informal chat with a member of our administrative team or current parent. If your child is applying for 1st-4th grade, their visit will also include an informal language assessment. Children applying for 2nd-4th grade will be scheduled to come for an hour and a half visit in a classroom of their peers and will also include an informal language assessment.
