ISB is committed to developing an elementary school program using the Primary Years Programme framework from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). In 2007-2008, ISB will add first grade in a combined Kindergarten-First Grade classroom. Second grade was added for the 2008-2009 school year. While maintaining the French or Spanish immersion environment in the main classroom, led by two native speaker teachers, the children begin to delve into other areas of enrichment as well.

The school day is from 9am-3pm. Early drop off is available from 8-9am and After care is available from 3-6pm.

In Kindergarten, students work in English 10-15% of the time, focusing on language arts. In First Grade, and throughout the elementary grades, children will increase their instruction time in English to not only cover language arts, but mirror what is being studied in the classroom. As well as the music and art enrichment that is present in all of ISB's classrooms, first graders will begin to receive enrichment once a week in Mandarin Chinese. ISB is excited to add this to the curriculum as we want to grow to teach our children from a global perspective.
