International School of Brooklyn offers a full preschool program. Nursery students can attend part time (9-12:30) or full time (9-3). Beginning in Pre-Kindergarten students must attend full time. All students attend five days a week in order to promote language learning. Early drop off is available from 8-9am and After care is available from 3-6pm.

The preschool program (Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten) offers 90% immersion in French or Spanish and 10% in English. All academic activities are conducted in the target language. All ISB head teachers are native speakers of French or Spanish and are certified teachers from a US insitution of higher learning or from an institution in their home countries. Depending on the age of the students, each classroom has at least a 1:6 or 1:7 teacher-to-student ratio.

To bring out the best in each child, we believe that the learning experience in a preschool must respect individual learning styles and developmental readiness and that learning should be joyful. In order to build this foundation, ISB's preschool offers diverse play and learning experiences designed to nurture the development of the whole child. Emotional, social, academic, physical and cultural development are interrelated and of equal value and importance.
