ISB is proud to partner with Little Green Gourmets as our lunch service vendor. Little Green Gourmets’ colorful, healthy, delicious meals are made from scratch using fresh local, sustainable and organic ingredients with kids in mind. Monthly menus are curated to reflect seasonal availability, variety, new inspirations and of course, fan favorites. Recipes incorporate an abundance of vegetables, fresh herbs and organic spices.
Little Green Gourmets was founded by Isabel Gunther after being inspired by cooking for her son. She first developed a passion for food and cooking from my mother, a Cordon Bleu-trained chef and food anthropologist. Growing up in a small agrarian town in upstate New York, I was raised in a farm-to-table household before the term existed. This food-centric upbringing inspired her to value fresh, healthy food produced from local ingredients. She founded Little Green Gourmets, a mission-based company, to bring fresh, local food to the children of NYC and help them learn to enjoy good food and to develop a lifetime of healthy eating habits.
Hot meals are served on campus in the Cafeteria (1st-8th Grade) or in your child’s classroom (Preschool) every day of the school year. Little Green Gourmets offers regular, vegetarian, and beef free menus, which are created monthly and reflect seasonal availability.
Little Green Gourmets prepares their in a peanut, tree nut, sesame and shellfish free environment. Other dietary and allergy accommodations available, including gluten-free, vegan, dairy/egg free, and kosher-style for an additional fee.
