The 2nd and 4th Grades had a special storytelling workshop with Congolese playwright, performer, and producer Toto Kisaku, and our students put on two full productions of the short play by Lloyd Alexander, “Le diseur de bonne aventure” or “The Fortune-Tellers.” Students split up into groups of actors, narrators, sound designers, and costume designers; and, in each hour and a half session, they were able to entertain 3rd and 5th Grade spectators and their teachers with a full-on production of the hilarious play!

A shoutout to our teachers, administrative staff, and parent volunteers Sophie Amieva, Kent Matricardi, and Alex Olmsted for spending the whole day helping out. We appreciate all of your time, care, flexibility, and generosity. From gathering and setting up materials, organizing the tech needs, cleaning up, documenting the sessions, sharing space and supplies and so much more, thank you for all of your contributions to making Toto’s visit a memorable experience for our students, one that made them feel like they were putting on a Broadway show!
