Author Visit: Ana Aranda

May 2023

Children’s book author, illustrator, muralist, and art instructor Ana Aranda, visited the Library and spoke to our French Pre-K 3 and Spanish Pre-K 3, in French and in Spanish (respectively, of course)! She talked about her art, as well as the books she illustrates and often writes too. Ana shared that she comes from Cuernavaca in Mexico, known as the town of eternal springtime, and spoke about some artists and authors who inspired her work. Ana’s work is inspiring and fascinating too; she sometimes plants her paintings in her garden, waters them, and after some dig them up to see how they’ve grown! After talking about her work, she had our students make some work of her own, challenging them to draw their favorite animals with their right and left hands. The results were all amazing in their own way!
