On September 21-23, the 6th Grade students went on overnight team building excursion to Club Getaway in Kent, Connecticut, with their teacher chaperones Jesus, Xavier, Macarena, and Miriam.

“Club Getaway is a great bonding experience for the start of the new school year. This is the students’ first experience with the Middle School at ISB, and it allows for them to get to know each other in a different environment, outside of the classroom setting. They learn new ways to communicate with each other, and they create a special memory together that they will go back to all throughout the year.” -Jesus Santos

The students spent three days in the sunshine playing collaborative games and participating in team challenges.

“We did a lot of team challenges where we had to cooperate. We learned it’s better to work together.” Miguel

Other activities included zip lining, bouldering, archery, and hiking. During the evenings, they made s’mores around the campfire, sang karaoke, and had a dance party!

“I really loved the karaoke. We all got a chance to go up on stage and sing. Even the teachers! They sang What’s Love Got to Do With It?” -Clementine.

Thanks to Xavier for putting together this awesome video!
