To finish up their Living Together unit, the French 1st Grade class worked on a project that demonstrated the students’ understanding of conflict resolution. This unit of inquiry asks students to think about what situations lead to conflicts and to learn how conflicts can be resolved calmly using different strategies. Managing conflicts is essential for keeping peace inside and outside the classroom!

For their culminating projects, the 1st Graders worked in small groups to create a story with a conflict and a resolution. The students needed to think about the perspective of each character involved in the conflict and to express how they were feeling before, after, and during the conflict. They drew the illustrations and recorded their stories in the French on the classroom iPads.

Watch their finished projects below!
